A good colleague of mine is starting a computational genomics group at the CBGP institute in Madrid. They focuses on the use and development of comparative (meta-)genomic methods to decipher what makes each organism and ecosystem unique. They study processes such as gene loss and duplication, speciation, functional conservation and horizontal gene transfer. For this, they Read more about Open positions at Jaime Huerta’s lab at CBGP in Madrid[…]

We welcome Susanne Huch to our team. Susanne worked as research specialist at the Universities of Heidelberg, Arizona and Umeå. She obtained her PhD in at Umeå University. She will join our efforts to understand ribosome dynamics mRNA pos-transcriptional regulation.
We welcome Yujie Zhang to our team. Yujie studied Viticulture and Enology at the Northwest A&F University (Shaanxi). She was awarded a CSC scholarship to perform her PhD studies at Karolinska Institutet. She will join our efforts to understand mRNA pos-transcriptional regulation.
Honoured to have contributed to the Budding topics series from Yeast. A review series for young PIs to discuss emerging concepts and topics. From transcriptional complexity to cellular phenotypes: lessons from yeast. Pelechano V. Yeast. 2017 Sep 3. doi:10.1002/yea.3277
We welcome Yerma Pareja Sanchez to our team. Yerma studied Biomedicine at Seville University (Spain). She will explore new research areas in our lab in the field of Sarcoma.
Our collaborators from Sebastian Chavez lab (Seville) have just published a new paper showing the crosstalk between ribosome biogenesis and transcription elongation. Glad to have contributed to this story. The ribosome assembly gene network is controlled by the feedback regulation of transcription elongation.
